We'll cover the CMD equivalent PowerShell commands, what the pipeline is, and how to do some basic system management and automation tasks with PowerShell. Intune Reporting – Kusto FTW
Description:
Using the built in monitor and reports in Intune is sufficient for some, but as with all reporting solutions, what is fine for you is not fine for others. The desire for Microsoft to build a flexible reporting solution where your Intune data is available is often an ask, however, its already there, hidden in plain sight, and no we did not mean the CSV export button. Enabling the diagnostic settings is the first part of making sure you can utilize the power of KQL, building your own customized reports in the form of a workbook. Think of KQL as SQL queries, Log Analytics as your SQL DB, and workbooks as SQL SSRS, but far better in terms of visualizations, and easy to share with your coworkers, management etc. Better still, KQL reports can be shared with others, making this a community reporting solution! Join Jan Ketil Skanke, Maurice Daly, and Sandy Zeng for a session filled with powerful KQL queries, tips on visualizations, guidance on obtaining custom data, and practical examples of where you can make your Intune reports shine. Taking it one step beyond just reporting, we will also show you how to use the same data to do more with automations in Azure.

What you will learn:
  • Learn How to Build Your Own Reports
  • Learn How to Share Reports with Others
  • Learn How to Improve Your Visualizations
  • Learn how to re-use data for further automation

Save Azure Monitoring Cost Using Transformations
Description:
Your Azure resources send a ton of telemetry to Azure Monitor. If you're collecting more data than you need, then you're paying a higher bill than you should. Transformations, which are brand new to Azure Monitor, allow you to leverage your KQL experience to filter and modify the data you're collecting before it's sent to your Log Analytics workspace. We'll show you how to use transformations to only reduce your monitor data costs but also to remove sensitive information and also add custom fields to assist your log queries.

What you will learn:
  • Use a Subset of KQL To Write a Transformation Query That Filters Both Records and Columns.
  • Add a transformation to a data collection rule for both Azure Monitor agent and custom ingestion
  • Add a Transformation to a Data Collection Rule for Both Azure Monitor Agent and Custom Ingestion
  • Use a Transformation To Create a Calculated Column To Support Your Log Queries

Secure Automation for Your Intune Devices
Description:
Would it not be cool if your Intune devices could securely connect to Intune, Azure AD or any custom-built API you operate. For instance, what if your device could query information about itself from Graph API or even update some custom attributes in the cloud, all triggered by a script running locally. This is all possible in many ways, but how can we do such things without compromising security or giving away secrets in our code? In this session we dig deep into the concepts of automation for cloud managed devices, how to make sure communication between the device and cloud is secure and is only coming from a trusted device in your organization. We'll share best practices on how to secure your automations in a cloud-first world when retrieving data from Intune or Azure AD in scripts running locally on the device and which Azure services to leverage to accommodate everything. If you manage Windows device with Intune and have ever been in need of retrieving data from Intune or Azure AD, or perhaps want to learn more how you can securely send log data from your devices to Log Analytics, you don't want to miss out on this demo heavy session.

What you will learn:
  • Ensure Only Trusted Devices Can Communicate with Your Infrastructure and Cloud
  • Learn about Using Azure Functions and Managed Identities for Automation
  • Understand How Azure Functions and Conditional Access Improves Security
  • See Real Examples on How We Use This in Large Companies Today
